Stanford Society of Chicano

The society provides free scholarship money to both Hispanic men and women. Under these programs, women can get financial support to pursue a wide range of courses. However, the organization encourages more women to pursuer careers or fields of study which are male dominated.

Upsilon Pi Epsilon Student Award for Academic Excellence

The UPE targets those students who have shown excellent academic performance in the field of computing. Under this program, students are awarded free money of $500 each. The money is awarded annually to competition winners. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required to be eligible to apply for this computer science or engineering scholarship program.

UC/ Edison International Scholarship Program

Candidates who are planning to complete Bachelor's of Science degree in computer science, engineering, life science, mathematic or physical science can apply for this $15,000 education scholarship program. The program targets students transfer from community college to pursue B.S. degree in the aforementioned fields of study.

ESA Foundation Computer and Video Game Scholarships

This is another useful resource of scholarships for the students of computer science and video gaming. The funding program targets women and candidates coming from minority backgrounds. Joe Francis Haircare Scholarships

Joe Francis was an iconic personality in the beauty industry. He passed away in the year 1994 after getting succumbed to cancer. The scholarship is provided to cosmetology students to glorify Joe's vision offering candidates great career opportunities to work in the beauty industry. Under this funding program, nineteen scholarship awards of $1,000 each are awarded to beauty and cosmetology school students every year. June 1 is the deadline to apply for this free cash for college program every year. NCA Sally Beauty Scholarship 2012-2013

The National Cosmetologist Association (NCA) boasts a membership of around 25,000 hair stylists, salon owners, estheticians, educators etc. Under this program, ten cosmetology scholarships of $1,000 each are awarded to students in three different categories - high school graduates, current NCA members and children or grand children of NCA members. NCEA Esthetician Scholarship 2012-2013

The $1,000 scholarships are awarded to esthetician students on the eligibility criteria of academic performance and financial need. Cosmetology Educational Scholarships by Sport Clips

The $1,000 scholarships are offered to students by Sport Clips. Though there is no limit to the number of students who can apply for this program, each year the Sport Clips chooses at least one from each college which has the membership of AACS. Sheryl A Horak Law Enforcement Explorer Memorial Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded to students of criminal justice or law on the basis of merit. Law enforcement explorers who can apply for this program should be at least in 12th grade. This is a $1,000 scholarship awarded to a student only once. Winners of this scholarship are decided on the basis of leadership skills, academic excellence and extracurricular activities. Chicago Police and Firefighter Training Academy Scholarship

This criminal justice scholarship is provided by the Chicago Police and Firefighter Training Academy (CPFTA). The 2-year free college money is offered to cadets of the 4-year program. To be able to receive this scholarship, candidates need to fulfill the specific eligibility criteria of the CPFTA. Winners of this scholarship will be able to attend one of the city colleges in Chicago and pursue their dream careers in criminal justice. WSCPA Scholarships for Accounting Majors

NCEA Esthetician Scholarships

This is yet another great scholarship resource for students of cosmetology. To be able to win these awards, each of which is worth $1,000, you need to have academic talent as well as the need to get financial assistance. To prove their financial eligibility, students are asked to write a 250-word essay also speaking about their aspirations to become a cosmetologist. These scholarships are awarded to students who have already enrolled in a cosmetology school and begun attending classes. Oregon Barbers and Hairdressers Grant Program

Only those who are residents of Oregon will be eligible to apply for this scholarship program. Alliance Medical Education Scholarship Fund (AMES)

The scholarship fund was established by the Pennsylvania Medical Society Alliance which is comprised of physician spouses. The organization started the program to help medical students pursuing a degree program in a Pennsylvania medical school. The aforementioned organization functions as a part of the federation of county medical alliances. Set up in April 2000, the fund provides financial support to current year, second year and third year medical students of Pennsylvania. To be eligible to receive this scholarship, students must be pursuing a full time medical degree program from a medical school in Pennsylvania. The award money for this scholarship is $2,500.

NCA Sally Beauty Scholarships


The National Cosmetology Association (NCA) has proved to a great resource for cosmetology students to get financial assistance. The association stands for the aspirations of the entire professional salon industry. NCA has the privilege of being the largest association of salon professionals including hairdressers, salon owners, nail technicians and estheticians among others. The NCA awards ten cosmetology students scholarships, each worth $1,000. The scholarships are provided to students in the following categories.

Five scholarships for high school graduates aspiring to pursue cosmetology
Three scholarships to NCA members for continuing cosmetology education
Two scholarships are reserved for the children (or grand children) of those who hold NCA membership

Girls Generation - Korean
